Publishing your story
What you tell is meant to be read. Your story will appear publicly on SharePeace, with the first name or nickname you choose.
Every story is read before it is published. We never change your words — we only check that there is nothing hurtful or inappropriate.
A nickname works just fine. Nothing requires you to give your real first name.
To ask for your story to be removed, write to us. We will take it off the site.
Use of your photos
By uploading a photo, you grant SharePeace the right to reproduce and share it to make the movement known, in the following uses:
- on the sharepeace.world website;
- on SharePeace's social media accounts;
- in its printed materials and presentations;
- in its communications to members and partners.
You remain the owner of your photo. You can ask for it to be removed at any time by writing to us; SharePeace will then stop using it in new publications.
You declare that you took this photo or hold the necessary rights. If a person can be identified in it — even if their face isn't visible — you declare that you have their permission to publish it.
Before they are saved, your photos are automatically stripped of their hidden data, including the exact place where they were taken. The original is never kept.
Your email
Giving your email is optional. It is only used for things related to your story and the bracelet you held:
- to let you know when your story is published;
- to explain, just once, how the bracelet continues its journey;
- to let you know when someone adds their act of kindness after yours, if you asked for it;
- to let you find your stories again.
If you checked “Keep me posted”, you will also receive, from time to time, news about the tree and the movement.
We never sell or share your address. Every message we send you includes a link to stop receiving them.
First planters list
If you sign up for the first planters list, we keep your name, your email and what interests you, as well as your phone number and your message if you provide them. We also note the language of the site and where you signed up: the website or a trade show.
This information is used for one thing only: to write to you when dedications open, and to answer you if you asked us a question.
We keep it for no more than two years after you sign up. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time by writing to the person in charge (below).
What we don't do
- No advertising trackers, no pixels, no analysis of your browsing.
- No ranking of people, no popularity counter.
- No precise GPS position is ever published: only the name of the place you enter appears.
